MICHEL HERBELIN – Inspiration 1947 Automatic Watch 1647/AP27

Michel Herbelin founded his eponymous watch company in 1947 and this Inspiration 1947 Watch is based on one of his original designs. Updated in terms of specification, this is a beautifully made, modern watch with a retro feel.

Firstly, the sunray dial is in a rich, dark brown colour and is set with steel hour indexes. These are pointed in shape and give the watch a vintage look. Secondly, a white minute track ensures that the dial is easy to read. Furthermore, the hour and minute hands are sword-shaped to complement the hour markers. Additionally, a date indicator at 6 o’clock is a useful feature and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial.

The 40mm case in diameter and has a very classical feel with a rounded profile. Moreover, the retro look is carried through into the crown which is fluted and set with a blue cabochon stone. Finally, the strap is in brown leather and is deliberately plain with stitched sides and a stainless steel pin buckle.

Equipped with a reliable Swiss Sellita movement, the Herbelin Inspiration 1947 Automatic is also water resistant to 3 bars (30m). This is a  handsome timepiece that you will enjoy for years to come. Presented in a beautiful wooden gift box, it is covered by a three year manufacturer’s warranty.
